‘Cave de Tain has significant holdings in top sites throughout the northern Rhône. I consider this one of the finest co-ops in the world.’

Uniqueness, in the Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Saint-Péray, and in particular in the Hermitage appellation estates (where the former property of Louis Gambert de Loche, the founder of the winery, has 22 hectares on the famous hillside!), the Cave de Tain fully plays its lead role and provides all its strength: the cultural practices it adopts with its own team of winegrowers serve as a showcase or sometimes even a “laboratory” for all winemakers.

On its property in Hermitage, a unique, magical place nestled in the vineyards, the winery dreamt up  the most perfect display case for its wines: that was the vocation of Fief de Gambert, the former house of the Gambert family that was renovated in 2009.

Nestled at the foot of the iconic Hermitage hill and in the very heart of our vineyards, “Le Fief de Gambert” is the new signature restaurant of Cave de Tain. Set within a beautifully restored former family manor, this historic estate was once home to Louis Gambert de Loche, the visionary founder of our cooperative. As early as 1933, he united local winegrowing families around a bold and ambitious dream, a legacy that continues to inspire everything we do today.
