In the heart of Hermitage vineyards owned by the Cave de Tain, “Le Fief de Gambert”, former house of the company founder, is dedicated to wine tourism.

From the entrance to the Domaine Gambert de Loche, belonging to the Cave de Tain, informative signs present the SYRAH varietal, the spectacular slopes of vineyard terraces, the Hermitage appellation and its traditional viticultural methods.

“Le Fief de Gambert” hosts a seminar and  tasting rooms, both with views over the Hermitage vineyard : in this unique site, we propose tutored tastings of the great wines of the Cave de Tain.

Examples of popular tasting workshops : “Mythical Hermitage”, “Wine & Truffles of the Drôme region”, “Plot selection wines”, and vineyard workshops including : “traditional trellising on stakes in Hermitage”, “Grape picking in Hermitage”.

From the Cave de Tain wine shop, we offer a pedestrian discovery route of Hermitage vineyards "In the footsteps of Gambert" : eleven places of interest, explaining Hermitage geology and traditional vine management, varietals and terroirs. A 1h45 min walk and about 4 km to appreciate the beauty of Hermitage landscape : a truly unforgettable walk around a prestigious heritage, renowned worldwide !
