Profoundly committed to socially responsible management, Cave de Tain put its conviction into practice from the year 2000 by investing in its environmental impact. Since then, it became a pioneer in Sustainable Development.
In 2011, this approach was awarded with the national Sustainable Development Trophy, for an innovative and responsible agriculture.
- “Reasoned” agriculture implemented for 100% of our vineyards, organic viticulture and organic conversion for part
- Plan of action to preserve biodiversity on its territories
- Renovation and highlighting of its heritage
- Sorting and recycling of all by-products
- Carbon footprint monitoring throughout the company resulting in the decision to use a lighter bottle, in order to reduce our environmental impact
- Sorting cork stoppers at the wine shop and ensure recycling
In a desire to share well-being universally, the Cave supports educational projects with humanitarian organisations, such as “Les Enfants du Mékong”.
This commitment was formalised in 2007 via a Sustainable Development Charter which respects the principles of ethical economic performance, in a constant effort to reconcile the 3 fundamental aspects of sustainable development : social, economic and environmental.
The pursuit of permanent improvement is now documented in an annual Sustainable Development Report.

- Benefits in the three fundamental aspects of sustainable development :
- Social : a feeling of pride within the team in preserving water, as a civic duty
- Economic : less waste water sent to the treatment station, saving costs
- Environment : through our action, greater respect for a key natural resource
